Take a cool old Porsche, make it an off-roading shooting brake, then make a scale model of it. Classic.

This year's RennSport Reunion – maybe the best Porsche gathering in the world, held at the Laguna Seca racetrack in California – had a special guest. Kudensport, a California-based Porsche restorer, got together with Mobil 1 and Porsche itself, to create an rally-inspired 944 shooting brake, and named it the Dirtmeister.

It's fair to say that the end result divided opinion, with some finding the result somewhat ungainly, but other more correct people finding the whole thing awesome. It's got a roof-rack, bronze wheels and off-road tyres mounted on jacked-up coilovers – what's not to love? Jimco Racing created the roll cage while the springs are from Eibach and the interior has Recaro seats fitted.

Of course, as it's a one-off your chances of owning the Dirtmeister are next to zero, but FEAR NOT – anticpating just such angst, Hot Wheels is making a 1:64 scale model of it. This is not just any Hot Wheels though – this one will be made to order, and you can register your desire for one via their website.

The Dirtmeister is the first Porsche welcomed into the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends, which is the annual competition in which fans have a chance to have their creation turned into scale models. A worthy addition, we reckon.
